About the scorecard

The AI Recommendation Scorecard is an audit tool built for local businesses and agencies. It scores your Google Business Profile against the signals that AI models — like ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and Perplexity — use to decide which business to recommend when a customer asks.

What we measure

Every scorecard runs five categories. Each category is weighted, then rolled into a single overall score from 0 to 100.

0125%

Review Health

Your star rating and total review volume. A 5-star profile with only 5 reviews is not the same as a 4.8-star profile with 500. Volume is scored on a log scale so growth at any level counts.

0220%

Content Quality

Are your reviews specific? Do reviewers name services, outcomes, and details? We score average review length and keyword diversity — generic one-liners score lower than detailed stories.

0315%

Response Behavior

We look for signals that you are actively replying to reviews — including owner-reply markers inside review text. Because Google does not expose reply metadata directly through its public API, this is a heuristic and is labeled as such on your report.

0420%

Competitor Gap

We find your three closest direct competitors — same category, same neighborhood, no national chains — and compare your star rating and review volume against theirs. Winning on both dimensions drives this score up.

0520%

AI Signal Strength

How recently are you earning reviews, and how well do those reviews cover the keywords that matter in your industry? We weight recency (reviews from the last 180 days) against topical coverage.

Where the data comes from

  • Google Places API (New) — live business data, reviews, ratings, and location.
  • Nearby Search + Text Search — competitor discovery within your local radius, filtered by category and relevance.
  • AI-generated recommendations — every weak signal gets a specific, actionable recommendation written by an AI model. No generic templates.

What the score is (and isn't)

The AI Trust Score is a directional diagnostic. It tells you where you stand relative to your direct competitors and which signals are weakest. It is not a validated predictor of Google search rankings or AI referral traffic — yet. As our user base grows we will rebuild the scoring model against real outcome data to make it predictive.

Who built it

The scorecard was built by the Reviewly.ai team for agencies who want a fast, repeatable way to audit a Google Business Profile and turn the results into an action plan — not a vanity report.
